Science Take-Out receives NIH grant for neurobiology kit development (April, 2011)
Science Take-Out received a 2-year Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to create and evaluate new kits that focus on topics in neurobiology. We are currently working in collaboration with with neuroscientists from the University of Rochester to create prototype kits which will be pilot tested during the 2011-2012 school year, followed by national field testing during the 2012-2013 school year.
Evaluation of Science Take-Out kits for NIH small business research grant
Science Take-Out received funding in July 2009 from a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant to create and evaluate new kits. Our year and a half long project included an independent evaluation of our kits by educational experts, which concluded:
"The Science Take-Out team has methodically and purposively listened to their intended consumers through the focus groups and surveys, and at the same time 'teacher-tested' the kits systematically… The kits are, as a result, well prepared and fine-tuned… The Science Take-Out kits provide low-cost, high quality content in an engaging and thoughtful way that meets teacher and student needs."
